Fausto Asperti (1927-2004), professional photographer and a Bergamo native, underwent two journeys to Russia between 1966 and 1967 with the aim of documenting the history and architectural and artistic activity of Giacomo Quarenghi (1744-1817) for the upcoming 150 th anniversary of the death of the Bergamo architect. At the same time, Asperti as a photographer was also a tourist. Through his pictures, he told of Leningrad, Moscow, of the rhythm of life of his time, of its anonymous protagonists, of himself, and of his travel companions.
